PRecycling Project shines at ECOMONDO 2024
The PRecycling Project made a notable impact at Ecomondo 2024, held from 5 to 8 November in Rimini, Italy. This prestigious event, a key gathering for green innovation and the circular economy, provided an ideal stage for the project to showcase its innovative solutions in sustainable plastics recycling practices. Coordinated by the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), the project was presented by Dr Tanja Kosanovic Milickovic on behalf of the coordination team, who emphasised the project’s role in addressing the challenges of plastics recycling and supporting the European Union’s sustainability objectives.

Central to the PRecycling Project is the idea that waste, when properly managed, can be converted into high-quality, reusable products. The team demonstrated how recycled plastics can be effectively repurposed for use in sectors like home appliances, textiles, and toys, providing practical examples of how these innovative processes are driving the transition to a circular economy. By highlighting these real-world applications, the project aims at demonstrating that recycling is not just an ideal but a feasible solution that can reduce the dependency on virgin materials.
Ecomondo also provided an excellent opportunity to present how PRecycling’s solutions are both scalable and replicable across different industries. The project employs state-of-the-art technologies, including digital traceability systems and advanced recycling processes, to overcome critical challenges such as ensuring the quality, safety, and transparency of recycled plastics. Furthermore, the project stresses the importance of engaging both industry stakeholders and communities to foster the widespread adoption of these sustainable practices.
Ecomondo 2024 represented a pivotal event not only to highlight PRecycling’s progress but also to demonstra how the project can make a tangible, long-term impact on the recycling industry, advancing both technological innovation and environmental sustainability in Europe and beyond.
